Help after an abortion

By anonymous on 04/09/2012
2 years ago my partner and I hastily decided on having a termination due to finances etc..
I went for 2 years thinking that the feelings after the termination and our relationship were coming to breaking point. I knew I needed help so I looked online for help and kept getting directed to care confidential. I read up my options and found that you can attend meetings in a centre or use the online advisor service.

I found that there was a centre in my area...
It took me 2 months to find the courage to go to the centre.. I took the bus telling myself I was just popping into town, I also never told anyone I was going...

The fact you have recognised you need help is a huge achievement in itself.

As soon as I met my advisor I was extremely nervous... she calmed me down asked why I was there and asked me to come back to start the programme..

I was soo keen to get through the grief of the abortion to move on with my life..

The 10 step journey programme is an absolute god send but you have to want to do it for yourself.

You do all the work, your adviser just guides your way of thinking.

It really works and I recommend it so much

I feel angry that this place is not offered to you after the abortion as this saves lives.

I have today just had my last session and my advice for this is have faith that you can do it as hard as it may seem. What they tell you before The Journey is 100% true..

You do come out on top.

I am the happiest I've ever been in my life and have accepted our story and reasons and look forward to moving on with our lives.

I'm so glad that you found the CareConfidential website and that The Journey programme helped you to come through the grief of your abortion.
