I felt a big clot and knew it was over. But the pain wasn't.

I have an irregular cycle so I overlooked my missed period as one of those.

Three weeks later it still had not come and I decided to take a test. I took 3 different tests and they all turned out positive. I was shocked!

It's my first time being pregnant and I'm 27 years old. I love my boyfriend but we both knew it was not the time. We had so many plans for our future. So we took the painful decision to abort via medical abortion.

I was referred to the Marie Stopes clinic. I went there on a Saturday morning shortly before 9 am. I completed some forms and I was asked my last menstrual date.

I was given a cup of water and we went into another room and there I took the first pill. I was so emotional before taking that pill I almost cried because I knew there was no turning back. I eventually took it and the nurse gave me four more pills which I was to take in exactly 24 hrs and she gave me her personal number to call when I started bleeding.

The next day I was practically shaking before taking these pills. Eventually, I did. I put them in my cheeks till they dissolved and swallowed them.

About 10 mins later I felt a period pain and knew I had started bleeding. I rushed to sit on the toilet. Nothing really happened. Just pain. I drank lots of water and before I knew it I was vomiting. Luckily I hadn't eaten solid food so it was all water.

I stayed in the bathroom for about an hour and felt a big clot coming. I knew then that it was over. But the pain wasn't! They were bad period pains. I couldn't stand it. After 3 hours of being in pain, I got a painkiller. Much better now. I will update tomorrow about how I feel as I just did this today.
