Our centre was set up in 2001 to care for women in Loughborough and the surrounding area who are facing difficult issues with regard to pregnancy.
We operate on an appointment basis, so if you would like to talk to one of our trained advisors you can ring or email us to arrange an appointment at a time to suit you.
Counselling concerning pregnancy choices
We offer a safe place, unbiased information and practical, non-judgemental caring support for women facing an unplanned pregnancy. We give you as much time as you need to talk and think through the consequences of any decision and to make your own informed choice.
Whatever your decision, whether it’s continuing your pregnancy, adoption or abortion, we will continue to offer care and support as appropriate.
You may wish to meet with one of our trained advisors on your own or you may prefer to bring your partner or other family member or friend with you.
Post abortion counselling
Although many women are able to come to terms with an abortion, others struggle with unexpected emotions and hidden pain. If you are someone who is struggling, we also offer post-abortion counselling support to help you deal with the pain and loss associated with your abortion. We can help you work through your thoughts and feelings in a safe and non-judgmental environment and enable you to face the future with hope.
Baby loss support
For women who have been through the trauma of a miscarriage, still birth or neo-natal death, the effects can be overwhelming and can affect every area of your life. Many women in these situations can be engulfed by differing emotions that seem very hard to bear.
At the Charis Centre you will find trained advisors who have time to listen and who can provide you with space to talk about losing your child and how this loss has affected you and your family.
