I'm not sure if I'm pregnant.

By anonymous on 13/11/2014
Well I'm 16 and I'm not sure if I'm pregnant. It's only been 2 weeks since I had sex after my period with my boyfriend of 1 year. I've been having tummy cramps lower and higher abdomen, and feeling sick through out the day for about 1 and a bit weeks.
My boyfriend is excited and scared at the same time. So am I.
If I am I don't know how to tell my parents, well my dad anyway, I've been in this position before and I only told my mum (parents are separated) and she was very supportive, but I lost it. My boyfriend may have a job very soon, I'll have the school thing sorted if I am, I just don't know what to do.
I am more scared of my aunty than anyone because she practically raised me and my siblings when our mother walked out on us, and she's like my mum. I need help I don't know what to do......

The first thing you need to know is if you are definitely pregnant before you start to worry about how to tell people and what to do. If you had unprotected sex straight after your period and you have a 28 day cycle, then it is less likely that you are pregnant although not impossible. You should wait until your period is due and then take a pregnancy test. You can get this done at a young person's clinic, a pregnancy choices centre, or a home test from a local pharmacy. Please call the national helpline 0300 4000 999 if you need help with this, or for support around unprotected sex. If you find out that you are pregnant and need to think through your choices, for unplanned pregnancy support. It may be a false alarm and if this is the case, you may want to go to a young person's clinic for contraceptive advice, Brook sexual health service for under 25.
