15 and just found out I am pregnant

By anonymous on 29/01/2011
I'm 15 nearly 16 and have just found out I'm pregnant.
My boyfriend is totally supportive and says it's my decision on what happens; abortion, adoption or raise it ourselves. >br>In my eyes I see abortion as the cowards way out as I believe you have to be reponsible for your actions and adoption is not an option either.
I think I would be able to cope with a child as I love kids but it's just the other things to think about such as money, living arrangments and also school. I also don't know how to tell my parents either. I just need some advice and need to know whether I would receive any support? i.e childcare benefits etc.

Carrying on with your pregnancy and having the baby is going to be hard work for you but it is not impossible if you have a good support network. It is hard to break news like this to your parents and I am sure they will be shocked and upset at first, but most parents want to be there for there children and support them at a time of crisis. It would be good if there was a crisis pregnancy centre in your area who could support you as you think through your decision. Please think about contacting the national helpline, logging onto Online advisor, or look on the website to see if there is a centre near you. They will be able to help you to work out what benefits you could apply for.
