I'm currently going through a medical abortion as we speak.I will start from the beginning but before I start so far so good!
I'm wanting to share my story as I feel there are a LOT of negative experiences rather than positive.
Firstly, I am 20 years old. I found out I was pregnant 2 weeks ago tomorrow. I had taken 2 pregnancy tests and they were both negative so I thought I wasn't pregnant. To my surprise I took a third pregnancy test and it was positive! I then bought a clear blue pregnancy test which told me I was 3+ weeks which means you could be anything from 5 weeks plus.
I knew straight away I didn't want a baby, I am young, and not financially stable.
I got a doctor's appointment for the Friday and I was told I was pregnant so my doctor referred me to my local family planning clinic for a week and a half's time.
I went to my family planning 2 days ago which was a Tuesday my appointment was for 10.45am.
I got seen straight away and the nurse who saw me asked me if I was sure, I said yes and gave my reasons. She then asked me to lie on the bed so she could give me a ultrasound scan to see how far I was. The screen wasn't facing me, I saw nothing at all! She told me I was 8 weeks 3 days and that I could get a medical abortion so I opted for that.
She gave me a swab to test myself for chlamydia and gonorrhoea which was optional.
She then took my bloods and blood pressure. She then gave me the first tablet and said to go back to the hospital 2 days later at 9am for the second part of the abortion (today).
This morning I came into the hospital, was shown into a ward with no beds just chairs, with 3 other women there for the same thing. We all got taken into a room one by one at separate times, where the nurse talked us through what would happen. She inserted 4 tablets into my vagina and told me to go and take a seat back in the ward and to not go to the toilet for 1 hour.
So this was at 10am it is now 1pm 3 hours have past I have started bleeding and getting cramps, contractions. NOTHING like I was expecting after reading things on here, they do hurt but it is totally bearable!
I am on my phone speaking to people as normal everything is fine im eating as normal drinking as normal the 3 other women are the same look comfortable! I don't think iv past large clots yet but I think this is the worst part of the cramps.
