Just wanted to give my story to others, I had a medical abortion at 9 weeks.

I found out I was pregnant 3 weeks ago and took my time to make up my mind as to what I was going to do, this has been the hardest decision of my life.

I took the first pill in my GP's office, she gave me 3 more pills to bucally take 24 hours later. I only had to take 2, and the 3rd was to be taken only if no bleeding had started 4 hours later.

I took the 2 tablets at 2 o'clock on Thursday. By 2.20 I had started to bleed, by 2.30 the bleeding was intense. I didn't have any pain at all.

At 3.15 I stood up and it was like a tidal wave, it absolutely terrified me, I knew it was too much blood and I was also passing clots the size of grapefruits and I felt faint and weak. This continued for about an hour then I rang the options phone number and was told to go to A and E.

I arrived and was seen immediately. The staff were lovely and I was examined and checked over. I needed a transfusion and antibiotics as sepsis had started. I had a temp of 42.0 and was in a bit of pain then as well.

I'm still in hospital now and will be here for the next few days until the sepsis is cleared, but I'm feeling ok.
