Hello my name is M…. and I am from Malta. I am 15 years old and I am pregnant with two months. I never considered an abortion or an adoption. I will keep my baby for sure. My boyfriend supports me and he wants to keep the baby as well. He works everyday for this baby. My mother knows and supports me as well but my father doesn't know. I am terrified of him. I don't know how I am going to tell him. Give me advice about how I can tell him if you can because I am so scared of him. PLEASE whoever is considering an abortion you are killing your own child. How can you do this to your own child? PLEASE DON'T.Editor’s note: Thank you for writing in. It sounds as if you may need all your strength and courage to tell your father when the time comes.
Before you tell your father, it would be good to build a network of support for yourself. Obviously your mother is part of this, but it would be good to have others who can be positive about your situation too. You don’t say much about how you are getting on with your mother, but she needs to help you find the best way of telling your father.
Prepare to show your father how you and your boyfriend have taken responsibility for the situation and shown a mature attitude. However he responds when he is told, he may well adapt to the baby’s arrival positively. It is a shock for any father. If he responds badly, you may want to have somewhere to go already prepared.
