I'm turning 16 on Friday, and I'm 4 weeks pregnant

By anonymous on 07/11/2012
I'm turning 16 on Friday, and I'm 4 weeks pregnant, it was unexpected. I've got all the support I need off my mum, dad, nan etc, but the difficult thing is that I'm in care.
I took over 4 pregnancy tests that cost me a lot of money because I couldn't believe I was pregnant.
I've got a boyfriend but we are very on and off.
I have a very up and down life, something changes in my life every week but I learn to deal with it. When I was 14 I had a life scaring abortion and ever since then I've decided that I would never ever have one again. I don't blame myself for the abortion because I knew I wasn't ready at such a young age but now I'm 16 I've got to be responsible for my actions and I'm going to keep the baby.
I know I've got all the support I need, but I'm just scared, but I suppose that's normal.

If you are in care it would be good to talk to those responsible for your support and make plans to be sure you have all the help you need. I am not surprised you feel a bit scared and probably overwhelmed at the thought of caring for a baby at 16, but there is help and support available.
