He wasn't wearing a condom and I'm not on the pill - am I stressing myself for nothing

By anonymous on 24/12/2013

Hey I'm 15 and I had sex with my boyfriend a day ago so I'm worried I could be pregnant but I'm really not sure.

When we were having sex he asked to come inside me and I refused because he wasn't wearing a condom and I'm not on the pill. He said he'd get me the morning after pill but I still refused and I don't know if he did or not because I don't know if I could've felt it.

I'm very worried because I don't want to have a baby now and I just don't know what to do or how I'm going to tell my mom if I am! Or maybe I'm just stressing myself for nothing.

My breasts are sore and tender and I feel movement in my lower abdomen so I really don't know because it seems too early for any symptoms.

If you had unprotected sex you could be pregnant. Even if your boyfriend didn't ejaculate inside you, semen still leaks out before the final ejaculation so you can still get pregnant. If you are not pregnant it you could go and talk to your doctor about long acting reversible contraception (LARC) which is safer than condoms and the pill. Having said that, you would not get pregnancy symptoms the day after, even if fertilisation has happened. These don't usually start until a few weeks later. You will have to wait until 3 weeks after unprotected sex, or a few days after a missed period before you can do a pregnancy test. If you have a possible accident there is the option of emergency contraception from a pharmacy or young persons' clinic for support around unprotected sex.
