Pregnancy after a condom failure

By anonymous on 05/04/2011
I found out a few days ago that I'm pregnant. I already have four beautiful children two boys and two girls. I have a great man who works very hard to look after us so life's pretty good. He has been using condoms which obviously failed.
So I'm now pregnant about 7 to 8 weeks and to be truthful I'm devastated! I'm scared, I have always said people who have abortions are wrong and that I'd never have one, but after finding out I went to the doctor's and they have refered me for a termination but I can't go through with it I don't think. I feel so alone I also feel embarassed people always call me crazy for having four children if I have five it will be even worse, My fiance wants to keep the baby but says he will stick by me either way please help me.

If you are feeling that you can't go through with the termination, something must be making you hesitate. The important thing is to do what you feel comfortable with, and not worry about what others may think or say. In the end its not their business and you have to live with this decision for the rest of your life. No contraception is 100% effective so there are always going to be surprises however careful you are. Please contact a trained advisor if you would like some support in thinking this through. You can call the national helpline 0300 4000 999, log on to Online advisor, or follow the link to find a centre for crisis pregnancy support in your area.
