Petrified about being pregnant.

By anonymous on 25/07/2011
I've just discovered I'm pregnant.
I'm happily married and in my mid 30's. I'm so confused and don't know if I want a family or not. I'm absolutely petrified of the pregnancy and am so scared that I won't be able to cope.
I love my life the way it is, but everyone says having children makes your life so much better. What do I do.

The truth is that this pregnancy will change your life whatever you decide. You will never be exactly as you were before the pregnancy, and as much as a baby will change your life, abortion would also change your life. You don't say how your husband has reacted to the news, and perhaps you have not had the courage to talk to him about it yet, or to admit your anxieties. If you would like to talk this through with someone impartial, there are trained advisors who can support you at this time. You can call the national helpline 0300 4000 999, log on to Online advisor, or follow the link to find a centre for crisis pregnancy support in your area.
