He loves me and this unborn child and we don’t want an abortion

Hi, I’m 16 and I’m about eight and half weeks pregnant. My boyfriend is 19. We love each other and we want to have our baby. He has two jobs and I’m getting a job over the summer.

We want this but my mother and stepfather don’t. They are making me get an abortion and I’m going crazy because I don’t believe in that. They want my boyfriend in jail.

I stay up every night crying because I love him. He loves me and this unborn child and we don’t want an abortion.

Thanks for writing in… I don’t know exactly where you are, but in the UK, you cannot be forced to have an abortion against your wishes. It sounds as if you need to find independent advice from your nearest pregnancy centre. A centre can offer time and space to explore your options, as well as your feelings, and provide ongoing support if you choose to parent. Obviously, it won’t be easy to choose to parent, but you can make your own choice, without pressure from anyone else. Contact your nearest centre as soon as you can.
