Pregnant at 15

By anonymous on 15/11/2011
I was 15 when I got pregnant the 1st time.
It was one of the hardest yet most rewarding times of my life.
At 3 months pregnant I had very bad morning sickness and ended up in hospital. I went in 13th December and came out 1st January, then it was all fine until 3 weeks before my due date. I was taken to hospital for swelling, itching of the skin and not being able to stand up. I had become low in iron and my heart was weak, so I had to stay in hospital. When I came out a week later they told me I should not get excited or run around, or even walk too far. I heard all of this the day before my 16th birthday & 3 days before my prom, I was very upset which of course made my condition worse, it was like a vicious circle most of the time! I eventually gave birth 2 days overdue. It took 20 mins and I had no painkillers of any type not even gas and air, and the result was a baby boy weighing 7lb 8.5oz. I'm now 18 and 3 weeks pregnant (same father) I don't know how I'm going to do all of that again without my mum around, but I am a strong, fighting woman at least this time I have a heads up ;)

It must have been tough for you to be pregnant at 15 when you were still at school. You were very brave to choose to keep your baby, and although no one can pretend it is easy, it has obviously been very rewarding for you and your boyfriend. Having your mum to support you must have been a great help. I hope your pregnancy goes well this time. All the best.
