Please help me… should I abort it or keep it?

By anonymous on 09/04/2009

I am lost about what to do. I'm 15 and 9-10 weeks pregnant. The baby’s daddy is not around. I have not told my step-mom or my dad but I believe they know.

But I am scared. I don’t know what to do - have the baby or an abortion. What should I do?

I always wanted a kid at a young age, but I’m scared because I’ll be all alone. I don’t want my child to go through what I went through when I was younger without the other parent. Please help me…

Abortion or keep it?

Thanks for writing in… No one can make this decision for you, as it must be the decision you are most comfortable within your head and heart. The best thing for you to do is tell a trusted adult – either someone you trust at home, a friend or other relative, or a professional person, such as a teacher or social worker as soon as possible. This may feel scary, but it’s very important that you don’t keep it secret any longer. You can contact your nearest pregnancy support centre and make an appointment to talk this through. You need accurate information about all the options – parenting, abortion and adoption – and time to explore all your deeper feelings about these options, so that you can make an informed decision and not one based on fear, panic or what someone else wants. Be brave – tell someone you trust and get in touch with someone who can help.
