I’ve just found out I’m about 9 - 10 weeks pregnant and I don’t know what to do. My family said they will support me whatever I do but I’m scared it’s going to be a struggle. My boyfriend is not sure he would like to keep it either because of our ages, he’s 17 and I’m 16, I don’t know whether to have an abortion. Anyone got any advice for me please?

Editor’s Comment:-

You sound as though you are still in shock from your positive pregnancy test result and it often does feel overwhelming at first.
The responsibility of having a baby and being a Mum feels enormous and at 16 you may feel very young and needing a lot of help and support.
It is important that you think carefully about all the options. No one can tell you what to do, but if you get all the information it will help you to make the best decision. You could look on the website for some information www.careconfidential.com, and call the national helpline, 0300 4000 999, where a trained advisor can talk to you about your options and look at how you feel about each of these. It is good to speak to someone who won’t pressurise you, and I am so glad that your family has said they will support you whatever you choose.
