My medical abortion pain was not as as I'd been expecting

I had a medical abortion yesterday and the pain was not as bad as I had been expecting. I was expecting pain similar to when I had salmonella food poisoning a few years ago, but it was not as bad as that.

Having said this, I took 2 x 500mg paracetamol and 2 x 200mg ibuprofen just before having the four tablets inserted.

I kept taking the tablets for the rest of the day as per the instructions.

I also held a hot water bottle to my stomach or back for a lot of the day and I was 6 weeks 4 days pregnant.

There was some pain and a lot of blood (and two large clots) - much heavier than my normal period.

Today I am still bleeding quite a bit, but no clots.
